She has worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, and the Universities of London and North Carolina. She has also been an active participant in peace, justice and ecological concerns within the Quaker community and in many local groups advocating for an earth restored and a more peaceable and equitable world.
